Grant Nordman (born January 19, 1950, in Santa Monica, California) is an outgoing city councillor in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in the St. Charles Ward. Nordman was the Speaker of Winnipeg City Council.〔(【引用サイトリンク】 title= About Grant << Grant Nordman )〕 Nordman was born in California when his father ran a business in Santa Monica during the 1950s. Nordman was first elected to Winnipeg City Council on October 25, 2006, succeeding retired Councillor Peter De Smedt.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=City of Winnipeg 2006 Election Results )〕 The 2010 Winnipeg Civic Election saw Grant Nordman re-elected with a 52% plurality of the vote.〔http://winnipeg.ca/clerks/docs/elections/2010Election/pdfs/2010ElectionOfficialResults.pdf〕 On November 4, 2013, Grant Nordman was appointed the acting deputy mayor of Winnipeg and was made a member of the Executive Policy Committee of Winnipeg City Council. He was a member of the Standing Policy Committee on Finance, the Assiniboia Community Committee and the Board of Appeal (Local Improvement Assessment Appeals). Nordman was the city council representative to the Mayor's Age Friendly & Seniors Advisory Committee and acted as the city liaison with the Royal Canadian Navy frigate .
